Layers of the Forest

For our Gorge Studies the past two weeks, we have focused on the temperate rainforest. Students had an overview of the layers of the forest and then focused in on the canopy layer. Through a variety of activities, we learned about trees that are commonly found in the canopy layer, the anatomy of trees and the life cycle of a tree. We'll be learning more about the understory and forest floor in the weeks to come.
