Birds of Prey
Our class has been enthralled with the study of birds of prey over the last three weeks. Students learned about the remarkable qualities that have enabled birds of prey to survive since the dinosaur age. Initially, students discovered the features all birds of prey share: their basic characteristics, diet, and habitat. Then, we dug deep into the different species of birds of prey, the anatomy of flight and finally learned what hunts the hunters...us. Students participated in a variety of activities from pantomiming flight patterns and dissecting owl pellets to completing the bird of prey nest challenge at Buck Creek!
