Classroom Update

The Columbia River Gorge Rocks!  (Adapted from Geology Rocks! by Ron Fink and John Heath)
Everyone in our class has a special part in a play which we will perform with our buddy class on Thursday at 2:30 in the library. The students are working hard to make sure that their parts are memorized for the final production.Thank you Erin and Taylor for helping with backdrops.

Art Mural
Thanks to Shanan, Marilyn, Holly and Diana for helping us complete the Art Mural. From start to finish, this project could not have been done without you! You'll see our Birds of Prey hanging on the west end of the building later this week.

World Geography
Small groups are competing in an Amazing Race-like project where they are learning a lot about the migration of people, important people and world geography skills. We started the unit off with a special guest who migrated here from Nigeria via Kenya. He talked about his journey. Daily, we explore tubs that are full of information about each continent. We've also asked students to share their family's migration story. Thank you Sydney, Charlie, Victor and Ian for sharing your stories. We'd love to hear more!

Graphic Novel
We are finally in the publishing stage of our graphic novel. Thank you, Holly, for the watercolor pencil lessons! We'll be using watercolor pencil in the final publishing stages. We are all looking forward to a finished product by the end of the week.

Rube Goldberg
Not sure if I gave an update on the winners of the intermediate competition. The overall winners were from Mrs. Kelly's class. And Mrs. Dawkins' class got the aesthetics award!

General Help
Thanks Shana for all your help with Monday projects. And thanks to Aven's mom for the gift you have given of your photography skills. We are blessed!
